Adventure Theatre - T3
with Melissa Platero
Ages: 4 - 7
In this class we are using a method called "process drama" to create an adventure to a magical land. We will be using an adventure story as a launching point. The students and I will use our imaginations to develop the world of our story. We will learn about story sequencing and problem solving. We will create characters, the plot, and create dialogue for our adventure. We will also create props and simple costuming accessories. It's a fun class that encourages creativity and play.
Confection Creations - T3
with Angele Coburn
Ages: 11 - 17
In this class, students will mix, melt, and mold their own sweet treats. Homemade candies are not only fun to make and eat, they can be a healthier choice too. When kids make candy themselves, they gain a sense of how much sugar and effort goes into it—helping them enjoy treats more mindfully. They will also have control over their use of dye and other additives. All recipes will be nut-free.

Dissection - T3
with Beck Fahey
Ages: 14 - 18
This high school laboratory course offers students a hands-on exploration of animal organs and human systems through guided dissections. By examining organs such as the heart, kidney, brain, and eyeball—with optional specimens like lungs and liver—students will investigate how structure and function are interconnected in living organisms. Each lab integrates careful technique, anatomical terminology, and scientific reasoning, supported by digital models and comparative anatomy discussions aligned with life science standards (NGSS LS1). Throughout the course, students will identify organ structures, analyze system-level interactions, and explore evolutionary adaptations across species. Emphasis is placed on observation, collaboration, documentation, and laboratory safety. By the end of the term, learners will be able to connect microscopic and macroscopic anatomy to biological processes, building a strong foundation for future studies in biology, medicine, or health sciences.

Executive Functions Part 2 (Foundations) - T3
with Audra Eckes
Ages: 11 - 14
We will continue our executive functions journey by reviewing and applying the knowledge we learned in Part 1. Each student will create a current SMART goal (semester-long), and begin to establish systems that will help the student reach their goal. We will determine the strengths and “stretches” (formerly known as weaknesses) of each student and begin to learn how to use the strengths in order to strengthen the stretches. We will use the binders created in Part 1 and work on backpacks as they start to lose their organization. Participation in class is required as is homework. Students must have completed Part 1 or a previous semester of Executive Functions.
Galaxies & the Universe - T3
with AJ Eldred

Galaxies and the Universe is a mixed-media class that aims to provide an introduction to astronomical concepts at a late elementary to early middle comprehension level. We will be focusing on the greater stellar bodies, such as black holes, nebulae, and quasars while bringing the concepts back to earth in the form of in-class research and other hands-on activities.
