Campers participate in hands-on activities that explore environmental science, earth science, geology, and marine science through experiments, outdoor exploration, and group projects. They learn about ecosystems, pollution, conservation, weather, climate, rocks, minerals, fossils, oceans, and marine life. Activities include building water filtration systems, creating food webs, identifying rocks and minerals, making fossil imprints, building and erupting model volcanoes, growing crystals, and creating ocean zone diagrams. Campers also take part in nature walks, environmental scavenger hunts, and outdoor observations where they collect and study natural materials like rocks, soil, and leaves. Throughout the camp, students work in teams to complete science projects and presentations, helping build teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. The camp focuses on interactive learning, creativity, and real-world science concepts so campers can better understand the Earth, environment, and oceans in a fun and engaging way. This magical class is where crafting meets science for some truly spectacular end products. End results will include a light-up magic wand, student-grown crystals, and solar-made candles, among many others.

In this fun engineering class students will learn about some of the greatest inventions throughout history and build replicas. Possible activities include: compass, paper, electricity, telegraph, telephone, radio, Archimedes screw, mirror, light bulb, camera, microscope, and telescope.

The students will use small powered and hand-held tools to design and create age-appropriate wooden toys and gifts suitable for gifting. The skills include light drawing, planning, geometry, math, use of measurement devices and tool and workshop safety.

In this program, students will work to complete a variety of vehicle themed Engineering Challenges. Some lessons will challenge students to follow existing instructions to build a predetermined creation while learning about an engineering or physics concept. Most lessons will challenge students to build a vehicle of their own design that meets specific criteria. Their teamwork and STEAM knowledge will be challenged during each lesson, while their creativity has time to shine!

Who wouldn’t want to escape and play in the world of magic, fairytales, and royalty? In Snapology’s Castles & Kingdoms program, students will have the opportunity to use LEGO® bricks to design their medieval fantasies while also bringing the real history to life! Yes, your student will do more than just build with LEGO® bricks, they will build their historical understanding of the unique elements that make the medieval time period such a fascinating point in human history.

In this class we will read stories about the bugs and critters in our environment. We will go outside and look for bugs and critters and keep a nature journal to document who lives in the ecosystem. We will also do some fun critter crafts!!
