Earth Explorers Camp
with Kiya Johnson
Ages: 10 - 14
Campers participate in hands-on activities that explore environmental science, earth science, geology, and marine science through experiments, outdoor exploration, and group projects. They learn about ecosystems, pollution, conservation, weather, climate, rocks, minerals, fossils, oceans, and marine life. Activities include building water filtration systems, creating food webs, identifying rocks and minerals, making fossil imprints, building and erupting model volcanoes, growing crystals, and creating ocean zone diagrams. Campers also take part in nature walks, environmental scavenger hunts, and outdoor observations where they collect and study natural materials like rocks, soil, and leaves. Throughout the camp, students work in teams to complete science projects and presentations, helping build teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. The camp focuses on interactive learning, creativity, and real-world science concepts so campers can better understand the Earth, environment, and oceans in a fun and engaging way. Myth & Earth Explorers Camp
with Kiya Johnson
Ages: 10 - 14
Myth & Earth Explorers is a hands-on camp where campers combine archaeology, history, mythology, art, science, and culinary exploration. Each day begins with outdoor investigations, including simulated excavations, soil and water sampling, and the study of rocks, fossils, and landscapes to understand ancient environments. In history and mythology sessions, campers learn about civilizations from Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Mesopotamian, and Medieval eras, exploring myths, gods, and legendary figures. These lessons are reinforced through art projects, such as clay modeling, pottery, manuscript-style illustrations, and eco-friendly crafts inspired by the cultures studied. Culinary activities bring history to life, with campers preparing era-specific dishes, learning traditional ingredients, cooking methods, and food science principles. Team challenges and daily showcases integrate all elements, allowing campers to present experiments, artwork, myth-inspired stories, and historical dishes. This interdisciplinary approach encourages creativity, problem-solving, and a deep understanding of the natural, cultural, and mythical worlds.
