We will focus on structure for short stories and novels; elements for creating a compelling story, and how language choices create and change tone, voice, and meaning. The day will be split up between discussing how to use the different tools and incorporate the various elements of writing, doing independent writing, and workshoping.

Lets Make an Anime! Camp

Have you ever thought about what goes into making an anime series? All of the work before the show hits the screen? In this fast paced camp, students will collaborate together to create a single, 1-2 minute pilot episode animatic for an animated series. We will go all the way from brainstorming, to scripting, character design, backgrounds, voice over, and a smidge of animating to create one cohesive project as a group.

TerraTaste Lab inspires young minds to explore the natural world, understand scientific principles, and apply creativity to food and the environment.

This workshop is a space to slow down, have fun, and create by exploring mixed media—no pressure, no perfection, no art skill required. Each session offers simple creative prompts and guidance, while leaving plenty of room for personal style and play. As they create, students will be encouraged to try new things and to see “mistakes” as part of the process—building confidence, creativity, and a sense of growth along the way. Whether you already love art or feel unsure where to start, this is a welcoming space to explore and create, focusing on enjoying the process along the way. Feel free to join more than one session . . . the prompts will be different!
