Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education

Our Whole Lives (OWL) is a comprehensive, values-based sexuality education program. It provides accurate information on relationships, sexual health, and identity, focusing on fostering self-acceptance, consent, and responsibility. The curriculum is inclusive and developmentally appropriate, designed to dismantle stereotypes and promote healthy decisions.

Contemporary Musical Theater Part 1
with Stephenie Stevens
Ages: 12 - 18
We will watch in-class and at home a number of contemporary musical theater productions from the last 30 years, discuss production trends and themes of this same period, and sing along. Titles will likely include: The Lion King, Hairspray, and Wicked. The final title list will be completed with consideration for students ages.

Executive Functions Part 1 (Foundations)

Ages: 11 - 18
We will start our executive functions journey by learning about the power of positive thinking, including positive affirmations and the concept of “yet”. We will learn how setting SMART(ER) goals can help our focus and outcome. We will learn how to create and maintain good habits and routines. We will organize backpacks and put together a binder, including a student planner, for class (I can help with other classes as well). We will tie it all together by pairing all these with executive functions (a set of cognitive processes that are essential for controlling behavior and managing tasks, including for effective learning, decision-making, and self-regulation). Participation in class is required as is homework. Part 2 is offered as a separate semester-long class during which we will focus on the specific executive functions and how they apply to each of the students.

Light, Shadow, Legacy: Learning Photography from the Greats

In this class, we’ll explore the many genres of photography, from street and portrait to landscape, documentary, and more, while discovering the iconic photographers who helped shape each style. Along the way, we’ll break down the basics of photography, like exposure and composition, by studying the techniques these artists used to capture their most unforgettable images. Through hands-on projects, we’ll experiment with camera obscuras and cyanotypes, create our own photo zines, practice techniques in class, and learn through weekly photo assignments.

Logical Fallacies

Logical Fallacies is a class centered around the fun part of Logic! We will be learning all about the different categories of fallacies and how to spot them in real life. This class will be lecture style with scavenger hunt-esq games designed to teach teens critical thinking skills.

Paper Mache Creations

Ages: 7 - 18
Students create their own unique projects, from simple bowls to masks and sculptures. Using basic techniques, they’ll learn how to mold and shape paper into imaginative forms and creatures. Each project encourages creativity, problem-solving, and self-expression, perfect for young artists eager to get their hands messy and bring their ideas to life!
