Introduction to Life Science - Part 1
with Stacy Lyerly
Ages: 5 - 8
This hands-on life science class introduces students to the building blocks of living things. Students will explore topics such as cells, the human body systems, plants, animals, and ecosystems. Through engaging labs and activities, students will investigate concepts like how the heart works, how plants grow, and how living things are classified. The class emphasizes observation, experimentation, and real-world connections to science. Students will keep a science notebook to record their findings and reinforce key vocabulary. This course is designed to build a strong foundation in biology while making science fun and interactive.
Middle School Geology
with AJ Eldred
Ages: 10 - 13
Middle School Geology is a course designed for students in grades 5-9. Topics to be covered include the rock cycle, natural disasters, how to recognize different kinds of rocks, careers in geology, and more! Each week will be a combination of lecture and hands-on activities to reinforce the material covered. We will be meeting twice a week, on both Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday will be reserved for the lecture, while Thursday will be reserved for lab activities. Geology is best learned hands-on after all!
Water STEM
with Betsey Bradley
Ages: 4 - 7
Get ready to splash into learning! In this hands-on Water STEM class, young learners will explore the amazing world of water through play, discovery, and simple science experiments. Using fun activities like pouring, measuring, building, and experimenting, learners will build early skills in science, problem-solving and critical thinking all while having fun!
STEM Crafts
with Betsey Bradley
Ages: 7 - 11
Where creativity meets curiosity! In STEM Crafts, students will design, build, and create while discovering the science behind how things work.
Each class combines art and hands-on engineering as students explore:
Building bridges, towers and simple machines; Experimenting with materials to see what's strong, flexible or waterproof; Designing projects that mix creativity with problem solving; and much more.
This class encourages creative thinking, teamwork, and growth mindset because sometimes the best part is figuring out how to fix something that didn't work the first time!
Pyrography
with AJ Eldred
Ages: 14 - 18
Create art with fire! In this class, we will be learning the basics of pyrography. With a variety of projects, the students will get hands-on experience practicing their pyro skills. Design projects include anything from small wooden boxes to large round basswood slabs. This class will hone your students' fine motor skills in a new and exciting way.
U.S. History

Everyday Engineering
with Snapology of Chapel Hill & Holly Springs
Ages: 7 - 12
In this program, students will work to complete a variety of vehicle themed Engineering Challenges. Some lessons will challenge students to follow existing instructions to build a predetermined creation while learning about an engineering or physics concept. Most lessons will challenge students to build a vehicle of their own design that meets specific criteria. Their teamwork and STEAM knowledge will be challenged during each lesson, while their creativity has time to shine!
High School Physics
with Jim Mueller
Ages: 13 - 18
Join Science Jim for an excellent and fun introduction to the amazing world of Physics. We will be covering Newton's Laws of Motion and much more as we run, pull, build and throw our way to a deeper understanding of a core science. The focus of the class will be to expose the students to the fact that science is happening all around them. It's not just something that takes place in labs or universities. Physics is the science of the every day. Riding bicycles, walking, playing sports, Physics is right in front of you if you know how to find it.
This class is designed to be a high school level course with weekly expectations of homework as well as regular quizzes and a final exam.
