Mason Jar Science - R3

In this exciting class, students will dive into the world of science using one of the most classic household items: the mason jar! Students will learn about the fascinating science behind everyday materials and processes, such as the water cycle, chemical reactions, and physics concepts like density and buoyancy. Through colorful experiments, students will not only build their scientific knowledge but also create cool, homemade projects they can take home and share with family and friends.
Stage Combat - R3

Ages: 12 - 18
The goal of this course is learning fundamental techniques to safely and effectively create the illusion of physical conflict. Using basic physical exercises focused on actor safety, effective blocking, energy and weight transfer, and believable choreography and reactions, students will build practical skills to keep themselves and their partners safe when participating in unarmed stage combat. These will include falls, rolls, pushes, chokes, slaps, grabs, punches, kicks, blocks, and found object combat methods.

Teen Art & Design - Credit Worthy - R3/4

This class is 2 hours long and will be worth a full credit, extending into May.
This class will offer a fresh and engaging approach, departing from the conventional art lesson. Students will not only learn fundamental concepts and techniques in art and design but also learn how to creatively express their thoughts and ideas. Through collaborative projects across various art media and other subjects, students will experience new and diverse creative endeavors. It will broaden their creative perspectives and thinking while exploring and discovering their own artistic voice. All you need is an open mind to enjoy the class.
THE Zine Project - R3

What’s a zine? It’s more than just a mini magazine… it’s an amazing tool for self-expression, storytelling, and connection. In this class, we’ll explore the radical history of zines, study all the different forms they can take, and, best of all, create our own zines every week. Our focus is on creativity, activism, and collaboration. At the end of the course, we’ll celebrate with our own little zine fest! Whether you’re into art, poetry, politics, comics, or just want to tell your own story, this is your space.
