In this camp, students will dive into the world of film by watching, analyzing, and discussing some unforgettable PG-13 movies while also enjoying themed activities and, of course, making delicious movie snacks to match! We will use visual media as a text for literary analysis! Discover the art of storytelling through the lens of cinema. In this class, students will explore the rich elements of plot, character development, narrative structure understanding and literary devices—all within the dynamic world of film. Over the course, we will delve into how to appreciate, analyze, and interpret stories, characters, story structures, and narrative techniques. Our movie selections, all within the PG-13 rating, offer diverse and thought-provoking narratives. Campers will engage in “big, juicy conversations” about themes, choices characters make, and how stories connect to real life. Through fun, hands-on activities and creative snack-making inspired by each film, students will deepen their understanding while having a blast.
